Why You Need to Paint your Baseboards!
Posted Dec 18, 2020
Your baseboards cover the wall surface and the floor junction and protect the walls from kicks, abrasion, and furniture. That's what an architect or builder might explain to you. But the beauty of baseboards is what they contribute to the visual enjoyment of your home. They can delineate the walls and bring out the special colors you have chosen for your home. We see a lot of homes and talk to lots of folks in the Boulder County / Broomfield County Area - they are usually excited about the new wall colors - time for a big change! But we are big fans of the subtle changes a fresh coat of paint on your baseboards can bring to your active home.
Our Project Pictures for today's blog show livid examples of why you may need to paint your baseboards.
- Baseboards, while they protect your walls and mask the imperfections of the floor / wall joint - take some abuse and need some love!
- The aesthetic charm of a fresh coat of paint is a satisfying investment in your day-to day enjoyment of your home.

And what paint should you use? Both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have great looking high-quality interior paints. Benjamin Moore's Regal Select Interior Semigloss and Sherwin Williams Emerald Interior Semigloss look great. For high usage areas, (we are looking at you young families!) consider using the new SCUFFX line of interior paint from Benjamin Moore. We think it offers even more robust protection from scuffs, toys, projectiles and all the similar stuff you might see flying across the family room on a typical play time afternoon.
