Cabinet Painting By Karen's Company
Posted May 05, 2017

There are a variety of different techniques and styles when it comes to working on cabinets. These cabinets were destined for the past in order to fit into a modern kitchen. Karen and her team of ladies, Reji Kinn, Danielle Bond, and Stephanie Suarez, worked to antique these cabinets and take them back to a simpler time.
To ensure that these cabinets provided the homeowners with a look into the past, Karen and her team began work. initially, they cleaned the cabinets off and removed excess dirt with a damp rag. Then they proceeded to sand the edges. Once the edges had been sanded, a smooth layer of glaze was applied and some darkening was added to the edges to make the cabinets look antiqued. To provide a clean finish, the team began the last step of the process by removing the excess glaze.
Returning the cabinets to their owners was a bittersweet moment in that we had to say goodbye to such a unique project... yet the smile and the surprise our company was able to create was well worth the sacrifice. We have found that the more unique the project, the more enthusiastic we get because those are the types of projects you don’t get to see on a regular basis. Karen’s Company hopes that the homeowners are just as happy with their one-of-a-kind cabinets as we are because we know these ancient kitchen fixtures have found their modern match.
