Faux Painting Technique: Indoor Tree Mural for a Private Residence in Indian Peaks Neighborhood
We painted this alcove in a private home in Lafayette, Colorado. The background was a light grey (close to Benjamin Moore's Deep Silver), and the interior designer suggested some faux painting to affect the atmosphere of the room.
How Did You Choose the Paint Color for the Mural Art in Lafayette, Colorado?
Ou faux specialists, Sue and Danielle, mixed paints with the base color of the niche background to find a pleasing and subtle darker grey. The exact color was unique to the project, but approximate to Benjamin Moore's Amherst Grey.
Originally a faux finish fog effect was planned over the bare tree silhouette, but the designer and owners were so pleased with the initial work they decided to keep it as is.
The faux style artwork in the niche added a very thoughtful ambience to the room.
You can see the lighting throughout different times of the day emphasizes different hues and aspects of the artwork.
