"Blue Door in Boulder" - Painting A Front Door this week
Posted Sep 30, 2020

One of the challenges to homeowners in Boulder County is the maintenance of front doors in a local with intense uv light. Colorado is famous for its "Sunshine over 300 days a year", but it really beats up the wimpy factory finish on wood doors and sidelights. One option if you have a wood stained front door is to regularly inspect and re-coat your door's finish. If you stay on top of it, just clean it up and recoat with a quality clear coat. But the doors and side light get beat up by the Sun's harsh rays, and after the sun does its damage, you might need to strip the old finish off. Often the top of the door is protected and the bottom gets a lot of sun, like in this example.
This story is a little different. After decades of a blonde front door, this Boulder County homeowner decided to add some color to her entrance. We used Benjamin Moore's Mooregard "MooreGlo" sheen in a custom blue color (we can hook you up with our source) and it adds a splash of color to the entrance of the home (the snazzy new door mat helps too!).
